This is a pretty insane Honda Civic EK Coupe with some tuning from 2000s. These pictures are from that era. And I may say that people were always building something similar. Too loud, almost without any comfort, air intake instead headlight and other disputable ideas. But all these guys and girls are always happy. Naturally aspirated engines need complicated and sometimes expensive solutions to get more power. VTEC is a legend and I'm sure this tuned Honda Civik EK Coupe has it as well. Turbo engines have more cheap and easy horse powers. That's why people were doing absolutely insane things. Removing almost all upholstery from the cabin and lightweight sport seats to make a car faster. And such tuning was not rare for similar Honda Civic EK Coupe or hatches. Change headlights into air intake to get just a couple horse powers in real. And it's not important that US-market cars have awful light, even with both headlights. Loud exhaust system to get (or loose) else a couple HPs. It was a hard tuning :-D
